RahulVai, A logical equivalent to your kind of posting is this: Let's say that a woman gets raped. Instead of treating that rape on its own demerits, intellectuals like yourself dig up that woman's entire sexual history to discredit that woman, and hence minimize or dismiss the rape charges. Here the same thing. Hari Shrestha, a businessmen, gets beaten up really bad. Instead of treating that kutai on its own demerits, intellectuals like yourself dig up Hari Shrestha's entire history (whether that's true or not, I don't know and I don't care at this point) to discredit that man, and hence give the impression that his kutai is somehow all right. Sure, Hari Shresth may be a khattam businessman. But that's not for the Maoists or for anyone else to decide on their own to start beating him up. In a democracy, there has to be something called law and order and the due legal process. Yes, these are difficult to get by in Nepal at this time, but as Nepali democrats we all need to put our heads together to strengthen these aspects of Nepali democracy. oohi ashu
