He has won the man of the match awards 59 times and the player second to him is Jayasirya with 31 times. Since man of the match is mostly awarded to winning teams, Sachin is definitely a class batsman. It sad that he is from India where Cricket is such a big issue. So every of his failure are noticed and blown out of proportion. If Inzi, jayasurya, dravid, Lara or Ponting goes through a lean phase, nobody notices it, but if Sachin averages only 35 its a national and international issue.
