No person and/or family should be accorded any higher respect than any other citizen by the virtue of their birth, jaat, gottra, kul, or what have you which does little to glorify their INDIVIDUAL deeds. Practicality. The root of abject poverty, deprivation, and that of many other social ills is feudalism. Societies that stand on feudal structures are the ones that are poor, war-ravaged, severely underdeveloped, etc. Monarchy, by the virtue of it's definition and reason d'etre, promotes and consolidates feudalism. The hell with it in the modern world.
