I have never seen Levi's for $10 - $20, are you sure those are defect free? Some stores sell jeans really cheap because they may have some minor blemishes. Or, maybe they just have too much inventory. I used to go to an outlet mall where you could get it for around $40. I think you should expect to pay around $70 for a good pair of denim from regular Levi's store in New York City. Even within Levi's brand jeans pants, the prices vary quite a bit. Above mentioned $40 jeans was probably one of the cheap designs, but it's still good and with no defects.
