In this February 1 photo, Maoists at Khumroj VDC in Chitwan district load timber onto a truck for selling it elsewhere. In 2003, the Maoists had captured 57 hectares of jungle belonging to Pumori Agro Forest, and recently they started cutting down the Sishau (Acacia-Dalbergia) trees. On one single day, February 1, they sold off Sishau worth 1.5 million rupees. Maoist local area in-charge Krishna Aryal said the trees were felled on his party's orders.
