NEPALI PROFESSIONALS in the US

I just thought it would be a good idea to create a list of Nepalis with some professonal achievements abroad. The goal of this effort would be NOT to make it a list of arrogants or let anybody use it as another venue to show off or even compare and under-estimate the work of those that are not yet listed. All are valuable; everyone is unique. My thought is that if these people claim a Nepali identity, they may also provide support and mentoring to other Nepalese in ways their times and experiences allow. WHAT: Create a list of Nepalese who have risen to some leadership or distinguished positions. WHAT BENEFIT CAN SAJHA MEMBERS GET? i) Get inspired by or feel proud of the accomplishments of other Nepalese (given that recent posts on sajha show identity crisis/anxiety) ii) Contact people in your field asking for advice when necessary WHAT NOT TO DO: Don't call or insult them E-mail them politely if you want to ask anything professional and then wait patiently for a response. If you don't hear within a week or so, I would presume that either the email was not working or the person was not interested. If you suspect it is the latter case, don't write any more. DISCLAIMER: None of the following are contacted or given permission to list them here. I am listing because they are identified as Nepali and are in some way public figures among the Nepalis at least. The order of names doesn't imply ranking +Samrat Upadhyaya, Writer and Professor, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. http://www.indiana.edu/%7Emfawrite/upadhyay.html +Luna Bhatta, Cardiologist, SUNY Upstate, Syracuse, NY http://www.upstate.edu/uh/connections/physicians.php?EmpID=ChTZKvIUMW Who else? Please keep adding with authentic information.
