Madhesi Tigers pounce, abduct 11 from Saptari At a time when the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) is engaged in agitation in Terai along with violent insurgency by two factions of Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM), the Madhesi Tigers have re-entered into the picture after nearly two years of virtual inaction. Eleven persons were abducted from Haripur area in the buffer zone of Kositappu Wildlife Reserve, Thursday, by persons claiming to be activists of Madhesi Tigers. The activists of Madhesi Tigers abducted 11 persons include Lakha Bahadur Thapa, Lal Bahadur Rai, Mukesh Basnet, Hari Bahadur Thapa, Bikas Khadka, Saroj Adhikari, Amar Tamang, Ganga Rokka, Dil Sapkota, Yuvaraj Siwakoti and Ram Bahadur Thapa from their residences. They were taken to unknown destination. The abductees are said to have been living in the area since past three years. Later, Chattan Singh Arjun claiming to the local in-charge of Madhesi Tigers owned up the responsibility. The only thing the Madhesi Tigers have in common with other three outfits active in Terai agitation is the fact that they too come from the same Maoist stable. The Madhesi Tigers was formed a few years ago. Its chief Ajaya Yadav who had defected from the Maoists and floated a separate regional outfit was found killed along the banks of Bagmati river in Sarlahi district in April of 2005. Security forces had then claimed that he was killed by the Maoists. Following the incident, the outfit's activities had reduced. nepalnews.comsd Mar 01 07
