Name: Sita Bastakoti Telephone: 98470-48075 Mobile: 9803051082 P0 Box No.82 Rupandehi Nepal A small job in Nepal with a poor expensing condition obviously creates a hope to live a comfort life like people in developed country like America. Same thing has happened to a teaching professional Sita Bastakoti who was holding a job in a small organization. It is the incidence of about 2000 A.D. that Sita Bastakoti after the completion of her normal education who hadn't even known 'what is D.V.?' was motivated by her friends to fill up the D. V. form. They also advised her to inform her husband to take part in such activities. It is too difficult to go to America to the people of normal family but thinking that D.V. may help to do so, she immediately informed her husband to come to Kathmandu who had gone for the normal work in Nuwakot District. After the arrival of her husband, they both went to a consultant to fill up the form. There they spent $10/15, which was being earned very difficultly. Thinking that poor people do not have luck they stayed keeping quiet until the result. Fortunately, they knew the message that they have selected for the lottery. That day was the happiest day in their life. We started sharing our happiness with friends and neighbors. Everybody started congratulating us. We also were thankful to god. During the interaction, friends said that you would certainly go because your Case no. is on top. In addition, they gave the example of previous people how they had gone even by submitting the duplicate certificate. To fill up the detail form of 4 member of a family for first letter we again went to the consultant. Here we again incurred expenses of Rs.2000/4000 for the photos and consultant fee. After sending everything whatever we had, we stayed by worshipping the god and started to see the dream of America. It is universal that every people try to become educated, happy and rich. Similarly, our family was also weaving the same dream. After two months when the 'confirm letter' came, we thought ourselves a lucky person and there was no limit of happiness. The surroundings and friends also knew and they said," how lucky you are, now your difficulties will get away". They also added how lucky our twin sons were, that they are going to be a permanent resident of America. After getting the confirmation letters, to work according to the instruction given in the letter my husband was bound to leave the job of Nuwakot because the executives did not grant long leave. Our family was completely zero financially when we incurred the heavy expenses in getting a medical check up by prescribed doctors, complete translation of every kind of required documents, transportation cost to visit several government organization and fee for making the passport of every member of family. Our family was ready to help us more even without fulfilling their appetite. After submitting of such recommended document to the embassy our heart started beating fast. After one week of that, embassy ordered to pay the visa fee of four members and called us after three days. We did so by mortgaging our house since what ever we had was finished in preparing the required documents. We were much delighted. We started meeting friends and enjoying. After three days, we attended the embassy. After about one hour of attendance, the counselor of visa section denied us of visiting America by saying "SORRY". We felt as if we fell off the top roof. The word "SORRY" immediately brought us on the road. When my husband heard that word he needed a help to come out of the embassy, on the spot Sita Bastakoti fell down due to unconsciousness, children started crying and screaming. Immediately they were taken to the hospital. After the normal treatment, she woke up and said," I don't want to go to home instead provide me a poison, I don't want to live". She did not speak more than this. She was restless. After the long effort of Dr. Khanal and Dr. Bajracharya she was agreed to go where her friends wouldn't meet her. At that time, we had some money left of debt. We were bound to stay at hotel because we were unable to show our face to the friends and neighbors. Now, we have no place to go, husband's job also remained no longer and have we had neither any home nor field. The situation of father, mother, brother and sister is poor and critical. Sita had tried two times to have poison. We have arrived in such a serious condition. (Source: http://www.dvvictim.org/index.asp)
