Normal DVD is of about 7 GB, I use this to record a DVD to my HDD. http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ This software is really good, have been using from the begging. Just create a ISO file, it will copy everything. To Burn to a DVD: A DVD +/- R is of 4.7 GB, so you cannot copy the film direct from original DVD of 7 to 8 GB into 4.7 GB, so I use DVD shrink: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/ Also one of the best software I know. With DVD shrink you can compress the video quality, and remove all the extra features that you don’t need, and remove other language files that you don’t need.
