About this Project Grandmothers are those special women without whom our childhood memories are usually incomplete. Incomplete without the memory of that special dish that they would make for us, of the stern scolding when we were terribly mischievous, their stories– the ones we wished never ended, the sweet endearments they crooned when we fell from our bicycle and the way they would always say you can do anything in this world. But often, too often, we forget to tell them how much they mean to us. We forget about their individual struggles and their dreams as young women…we forget- because we have our own busy lives, our own struggles and our own problems…and because we know they are always there for us, many times we take them for granted. “Hamra Hajuramaharu” is thus a tribute to such ordinary women who play extraordinary roles in our lives. It is a collection of photographs of grandmothers, a project initiated by a group of grandchildren [+]. Sanjeevani Yonzon Bhushan Shilpakar NayanTara Gurung Kakshapati (Photographer) Ujwal Bhattarai (Photographer) If you would like to participate in this project and develop a photo collection of your grandmother let us know.
