Blah Blah Blah,..respecting , puja archana etc to the saint is one thing but where does these necessary expensive gift, dinner or victoria secrets comes in? and chocolates(which is consider aphrodisiac mainly today) ? Faces of loved one not being delighted by gift or missed?..... It has become "two cows" joke of capatilism if you have heard it...way over commercialised. People who beat or mentally rape their loved one 364 days but celebrate this one day have given domestic voilence another vitamin whereas people who dearly love 364 days but miss this day somehow have become the lame in the society. During the war time, restriction on love may be the right choice to be focused and boost the energy of warriors ( you probablly heard of most top soccer team coaches preventing players from engaging in sex(making love) during world cup for victory). So may be the Saint was wrong in the context of roman period and was over reacting, exploiting. Forget about the love between parents and offspring or between brothers sisters etc., that is negligible to this day -would not have been popular among Indian and then Nepalese (where the subject of our movies and songs are about two lovers 95% of time ) anyway if that was the case. And about lovers, what so special when most guys think about getting laid (unconcious mind) and most girls think about getting gift, flowers, card (concious and emotional mind) to this day.Furthermore, it has become symbolic day to "kaatar" ones who could not say "I love you", rest of the days. Don't call me negative, I'm just acustomed to see things another way. Your opinion is expected, not an argument. May your wish come true , though...
