To know about Madheshi Uprising, we should know about Madheshis: If anybody has best ancient recorded history in Indian subcontinent its of Madhesis. 25 century ago, Northern India was divided into two big empires; Magadh (Roughly Today's Bihar) in the East and Kosal (Roughly Today's UP) in the west. King प्रशेनजित ‍ ‍-प्र‌ +सेन +जीत (The Army winner), ruled Kosal where as सेनिए बिम्बशार (Master of Army Vimbasar), a highly religious king ruled Maghad. These two countries were the superpowers of the time and largest economies. अजातसत्रु, the son of Vimbasar, killed his father and ruled Maghad. He was very ambitious, so, to extend his empire, he decided to take Vaishali, a highly rich and strong democratic country, where an exceptionally beautiful courtesan अम्रापाली used to dance. He moved his kingdom from Rajgiri to Pataliputtra (today's patna) and invaded Vaishali. This extended kingdom from today's Andrapradesh to today's Nepal. After 300 years, a new mighty king aroused in this area. He was known Emperor Ashoka. He ruled almost entire North and north Eastern India till Nepal. He made 84000 Buddha Bihars (Monasteries), in his kingdom dedicated to Buddha and his teaching. Anywhere you go, you see Bihar. Since then the place is known as Bihar...it lost its real name Maghad. Because of its fertile land Bihar had always remain highly richest country in Indian subcontinent. It had remained the richest Indian state till British Raj. When British left India, Bihar was the richest Indian state. To be continued...
