Maoists continuing extortion despite receiving govt fund: Finance Minister Finance Minister Dr Ram Saran Mahat (File photo) Finance Minister Dr Ram Saran Mahat today accused the Maoists of continuing extortion across the country even as the government has already released budget for the upkeep of their army. “Despite receiving government fund, the Maoists have not ceased extortion. This will not do any good to them anyway,” Mahat said addressing a gathering of Nepali Congress party workers in Bharatpur, Chitwan, on Saturday. He also revealed that the local law enforcement agencies have been directed to act tough against the donation drive and other forceful activities of the Maoists.
