Los Angeles is great weather wise, just like Kathmandu, not too hot not too cold. U can get to lot of nice beaches (Venus beach, long beach, redondo beach, hunnington beach, manhattan beach, just to name a few) within 15-20 minutes from anywhere. There are other attractions like universal studios, disney land, hollywood, close to sea world, 4 hours drive to Las Vegas. But I guess anywhere is great as long as u love living there............
