Thanks guys. I confirmed with my lawyer and this is true. This sucks big time. He also told me that not only do i have to wait till April 07 to file, but i cannot work till October 07. is this true? if i do premium processing at the start of April and get approval within 2 weeks, shouldn't i be able to work since i ALREADY had a H1B to start with? this is some serious horsemanure law that needs to be taken care of. @Santoshgiri: why do you think going for GC from Non-Profit is faster? I have a Masters degree and would fall under EB2, and if the GC process is faste (i hear less than a year), i would go for that. But i need some realistic dates or else i would be stuck with this employer where i do not want to work for the time frame of the GC application. thanks.
