Bluebus, You must wait until the quota is available in April 2007. I think quota for advanced degree has also finished. I was having the same problem. I had a job offer and I couldn't take the new job because my H1B from the current non-profit org didn't get transferred, so I missed the opportunity. I don't think green card process from non-profit organization is faster if you're applying on EB.
