It is not as easy as you might think. I went through this process 3 years ago. I don't know what's the criterias these days. Just make sure you have plenty of time. This thing takes at least a month. Remember its not the Embassy's process, its our Nepal's government process that is really long. Here are list of things you will need to do. 1. Apply for marriage certificate in CDO. Thi will be your court marriage application. 2. CDO will send one letter to Home Ministry and one to Rastiya Anushandhan Karyalaya. Hopefully you know some in those to places. 3. Home Ministry will conduct its investigation. ie. It will send a letter to Police Headquater. 4. Police headquater will send the correspondent to DSP office in Hanuman Dhoka 5. DSP office sends correspondent to your local police. Mine was in Jana Shewa, New Road. 6. Local Police will send all the above correspondings to Home Ministry saying that the Nepali citizen you are marrying doesn't have any previous unresolved marriage or criminal cases. 7. Now Rastya Anushandhan will contuct its investigation. I really hope you know someone here. They will conduct an interview with you. Sooner you can have them do this better it is. 8. After Rastya Anushandhan finishes its investigation, it will write a correspondent. 9. You take both correspondent letter from Home Ministry and Rastya Anushandhan to CDO and have your marriage certificate made. 10. Thats it. Have patience. Bare in mind, you have to follow up on every step I mentioned above personally. BTW, spending some cash definitly make things faster, but i refused to do it, so it took me exactly 2 months to finish this thing. But that's just me. I had time to spare. Good luck, SS
