" well cregmi, first off, i may NOT be talking about myself here, i am talking about a general nepali teenager/young guy. just because, at times, they go to pubs/bars/clubs and drink+smoke do not imply that they are bad or they don't have respect towards their own culture and values. a typical man goes through different stages in his life, he may possess various crooked habits during his teenage. it is how he comes out of all those and how he controls himself for betterment as he ages, count more, in my humble opinion. i have always believed that attitude is more important than anything else. if you have good, optimistic attitude towards life, you may possess bad habits but your good attitude will always help you to guide through and take the right path if/when needed. my humble request to you is, don't judge people by what they wear and show. Sajhauser, of course being humane is more important than being a nepali. coz we are human first, then only nepali or whatever. when i said, we are nepali at heart, i meant to direct it to those people back in nepal or elsewhere who tend to have this wrong perception that people who stay, say in US, for considerable period of time, get americanized in a wrong way! they don't care much about their parents and families, they don't care a damn about nepalese culture and festivals, they surely lose their virginity at an early age, they keep multiple partners, may end up marrying an american hoe so on and so forth. on a personal note, when i went back to nepal for the first time after coming here in US, the first question that my maternal grandmom asked me was "aba nepali keti ke bihe garthyo yesle, american bhai halyo hola!", and she was not being sarcastic! hehe.. things, not always are, what they seem or look like ! :P LooTe
