I agree with npl2us. Most of people who are in Maosits have left their work, study or what ever they were doing before joining the Maoists force. It is not so easy for them to go to normal life. For Prachanda and Babu Ram it is easy to say we have reached an agreement with government and say no more war, because they will have full security and good revenue for excellent life from one on. But what about those who have done everything under command- Killing villages, looting everything that is against human kind. Just using name mentioned above, “talla ghare saila” - will he be accepted by the villages as a improved person from their heart after he is without gun and of course not in group in long run? Personally I don’t think so based on the recent cases when local people are speaking and acting against Maoists. Maoist has power just in the support of gun and they will be treated to the worst as these gun go away fro them. In long run, current lower post Maoists will most probably be initiating some steps against top leaders of Maoists claiming that they have used them. And biggest thing in Nepal is not so easy to fool people like people. One change that this decade civil war has brought is, all people understand certain level of politics. So personally what I think is that settling these lower post Maoists should be a major agenda. Otherwise it will surely bring another civil war in Nepal. Nevertheless, despite all these the current change in country has surely brought a change to improve things. Good to turn TV/Radio and hear news of other topics rather than killings of people. In this time, I think the public should be very cautious and warn politicians about the consequences they have to face if they even plan to do something bad thinking they are superpower of the country. And my proposal is, NEW NEPAL, should have new ideas and new incentives; and people best for this are all Nepalese residing abroad. Good luck for all of us. [It’s very easy to give up, but tough to take first step no matter how small is the output. So let’s think positive and work to do somewhat better just what it is now] LOVE NEPAL ALWAYS :)
