I had the same experience at the Delhi Airport during this dashainm, not while I was going to the Nepal, but when i was flying back to US. They made me open my entire suitcase to see the gifts that I brought. I didn't get hassled much while giong to airport but just had to pay $28.00 for extra suitcase, which I had already paid in US airport. I didn't wanna go throught questions and answers as to why I had to pay $28.00 since I was already tired of that long 15 hours direct flight. I would not want to fly through Delhi if it wasn't for $600.00 savings (me and my wife). I'd still take that route to save $600.00. But if $300 per person is not a whole lot then DO NOT GO THROUGH DELHI...
