nectar, you are right and as long as you have a valid F1 visa there is no trouble in travelling. you can come and go as much as you want as you please. but if you do not have one then i would advise you to go to canada and get it before traveling to your home country. personally, i did it in canada. because my job required me to travel. I never travelled to my home country in OPT.
