Braindrain from developing countries to developed countries has become a phenomenon of globalization. Brain drain/waste from poor countries is hitting hard. Countries like U.K. USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and more countries are benefiting from the brain drain and they are also utilizing the resources of developing countries. These countries are getting free resource without any investment. The United States Department of Labour has acknowledged that the country is currently facing a shortage of 125,000 nurses, and this figure could rise to as high as a million in ten years. And Canada has predicted that its shortage of nurses will reach 195,000 in the year 2011 and 282,500 in 2016. (END/2006).I wonder what might be the solution to curb this brain drain and brain waste. What policies might be effective? Should brain drain be curbed? Just bouncing some ideas....
