Marshal67, Thanks for your message and thank you for giving me an opportunity to explain few things that many new users might not know about sajha. Sajha is not a full fledged company that employs many people to run the site. It is a small hobby of mine, which is to provide a cyberspace for Nepalis to come together and share a feeling of Nepalese community when we are far away from our homes in Nepal. The small hobby has grown a lot as far as the visitors to the site go and I think the site is achieving it's objective of being a cyber community of Nepalese providing a virtual community outside of our own communities from where we have grown up. As you can see once in a while, the sentiments of the users here run amuck because of few people who seem to incite caste segregation among us. Once in a while there are inciting threads and sometimes a general non inciting thread also gets turned into a caste segregation thread because some of us are more intolerant of others and are prone to using expletives and language that incites more and more of us to start partaking in the ongoing caste segregation threads. As I have mentioned, sajha is a hobby of mine with which I hope to Bring Together Nepali Communities. Sajha has been relatively successful but once in a while the medium of free speech ie. the discussions can become a cause of separation instead of bringing together. At these times, I have to use personal discretion to attemp to remove caste related threads so that more such discussions are not encouraged. In doing so, I normally look at the front page and delete (or classify into 'our differences' usergroup) threads that are related to any caste issues so that people don't have a caste related thread to reply to or to continue this negative discussion. Your thread must have been one of those that I had to select. I am glad that you scolded me for not deleting bahun supportive threads and for calling me a bahun. I am glad partly because I have received emails from few people who have called me a bahun - hater and I hope those individuals can read up your posting and realize that I support noone in general for their castes. If I support anyone I do so because I have a faith that as a human being you will have a sense of humanity in you. Sajha is a medium for discussion and everyone agrees to discuss with respect. If you have to resort to name calling and using foul language, then your username can be disabled because we cannot have a fair and productive discussion when people start being abusive and disrespective of other individuals, or when some ideas itself are abusive, derogatory and foul in nature. Happy Tihar to you all
