Tisa, That's outright discrimination; you don't choose a political candidate just because you admire or you can relate to one's race/heritage/nationality/ethnic group. That's bogus. As a constituent you should be more concerned about your 'causes' (legal ones) that the candidate hopefully can fight for you or represent you in the city hall, state parliament, capitol hill, etc. It doesn't make one bit of difference to me whether the candidate is a first generation Nepalese American or a sixth generation American of Irish heritage. Think about it this way; in Tracy, CA where Roger is running for a council seat there are less than 10% asian and over 60% caucasian- poulation wise. If the caucasians were to apply your voting formula do you think Roger would have any chance? -JB
