While it is true that girls do mature faster (hence the HIGH failure rate of high-school romances) than boys, age diference should NOT matter as much. It is a personal choice and if you feel that you are very mature you can go for a girl with similar age otherwise if you are a bit childish go for someone younger. Also, girls age faster too. So if you marry someone significantly younger than yourself the two of you will look similar in age. Like my parents look similar in age (but their age difference is quite big.). So I guess you're you're 28, 27 yr old woman should be good. My preference would be at least a 2-3 yr gap. But yu can never tell. Nor do I wanna think about it since being single is FUN!!!
