Fortunately Swarnim Sandhya was the first time (and the last I guess) in Nepal when the Live recording quality didn't get messed up. I said Last time because remember Arun Thapa live, where the sound got so screwed up. Well, most of the time these live shows recorded by our engineers just get screwed up big time and Swarnim Sandhya was an exception. I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to watch Swarnim Sandhya live, thanks to my grand father, who was an avid fan of Narayan Gopal and at that time he might have anticipated the importance of taking his grandson to watch such a historic show. Although I was very young to understand his songs and the importance of that moment. Now, I cherish that moment and I am always thankful to my grandfather, who died few years after Narayan Gopal. The main credit for turning me into liking his songs was Nyhoo Bajracharya. I went to learn guitar with him and ended up learning some simple chords and some really good understanding on rhythms and depth of Naryana Gopal's songs. Now finally I seem to understand the meaning and admire his vocal and the way he understood the lyrics and sang with his heart. Just listen to Sawan Ko Jhari Bani, such a simple song, such an ordinary lyrics but the way he sang it is out of this world. And that is just one of his many songs. Seems like I am getting Old... mmm... Just older. eh! This song is dedicated to my grand father, eh... every time I listen to it, it takes me back to my childhood days with my grandfather, who used to wake up early and usually murmured Ankha chopi Narou Bhani. eh!! Damn I am missing something that I avoid missing for last 12 years. I am seriously getting older. ehe...!!
