Looks like I have hurt some souls out there by opening this little controversial thread. Rythm, I have no intention to boast and show off, I was/am looking for good counter arguments. If I am wrong, prove that I am wrong. I will admit. I don't have any ego problem. Lfc123, You seem to have prejudices about those nepali men who work in Arab countries. It should be understood that no one is trying to play an attention seeking game. Looks like you are better off in it. However, I like to be non-judgmental with my opinion and expect the same from others. Rudra Prasad, You have raised some interesting points. However, let's not delve into the "who is smarter" stuffs. It's gross and unhealthy. This thread itself has raised enough controversy and offense. Girl_Interrupted, I am glad that at least there is one woman who can think with some conviction and rationality. I liked some of the points that you have raised. Of course "equality" is important. Everyone (male and female) is better of in an equitable society. No doubt! You wrote: "There are plenty of men who work just for the namesake too, isnit it? " --I agree. But I am just talking about the ratio. How many men work for reason (for a real support to the family) and how many women work just for the sake of getting engaged in sth? --I fully agree with you on the underprivileged woman issues. Surely, they deserve equal oppurtunity to let them prosper. --I also agree with you on the point that women should be given a chance to payback to the society. And of course, they can work after their kids are grown up. In fact, I have already said, women should work together with men in harmony and synergy. What I have failed to perceive is the difference in the efficiencies between an average woman and an average man that they are able to put on the same work. 1) I would love not to buy any biological explanation at this point. I don't thing there is anything like "borne inteliigence" "or borne supremacy" kind of things. 2) I have simply atttributed that to the fact that average women are, by nature, better at social stuffs than at corporate jobs. Of course, excpetions are there. 3) I am not saying that men can take that as an excuse to keep themselves away from their social and family responsibilities. 4) I am not saying that women should work as a housemaid either. 5) I am just trying to justify the nature's offerings to human beings by letting woman not to become too ambitious in career and giving men more options to be agressive at his career front. Both can work in both, of course! 6) Exceptions are always possible. There are families where woman work and men look after household tasks. Let it be. I am not objecting that. 7)Women of this century are aggressive. It's more because they have been suppressed in the past. However, everyone should know their limitations. How many dynamic career oriented women have firm family status? Something to think about. If they are happy with it, all is well. And it's not only because of men. Men, by nature are not the masters of household stuffs. Again, exceptions are avaliable. But, let's talk in general. However, my analysis should kindle interest on those women who want to lead a dynamic career and maintain a healthy family bond at the same time. Theretically, it's possible. Practically, very few have emerged as successful in both. Something to think about, innit?
