My parents use VOIP to call abroad from Nepal. Costs around Rs.6 per minute. It is not a Vonage service. They just have an application set up in their laptop. With the headset, the calls are clearer than when using the calling card. I understand it is also possible to converse via Yahoo and MSN instant messaging service, though I have not used it yet.
