Sunkoshi, Very lucky gal cuz you aced NCLEX and did it. Bravo! I would not blame for posting your query for asking advice from people who have very little knowledge about the process of finding Nursing Job. Let me give you advice what you need to do next if you are eager to start working as a RN. I assume you live in California. If you don't live in California, consider moving to California because timing is very important for you. If you live out of state and are trying to endorse your license and starting working, it will delay and you will lose of applying for green card processing right the way. According to the eminent immigration lawyer website, visa numbers for green card processing for RN are about to be used up. Do your paper work as soon as possible before November 1st since website mentions only about 1000 visa numbers are available. As visa number gets unavailable, you won't be able to file I485 Adjustment of Status application to adjust to Permanent Residency right the way as you can do now. As you said you have passed your NCLEX, you will receive your CA RN License within six days from Sacramento. First print your license from the CA board of Nursing website and use it for job interview till you receive your original CA RN License Card. It would not be any issue for Nursing Recruiter. California is a heaven for Nursing Jobs because of new California law that requires one RN for every six patients. I am pretty sure you will get many Nursing Job offers in few days in California. Once you have a job offer, either you should ask Hospital's Attorney or you can hire yours personal Attorney if you have one. Most Hospitals reimburse the cost of Attorney for your accrued cost of immigration processing. Once your paper work is processed, you should expect at least two months to get approved of your Alien worker I140 petition. Maintain your F1 status until your case is approved. So think why not finishing whatever the classes you enrolled. Good idea. As of today Nurse can file both Alien Worker petition (I140) and Adjustment Of Status to Permanent Residence (AOS) (I485). I140 approval let you to work right the way that probably takes about two to three months. I485 approval make you Permanent Resident or Green Card holder, which takes months to few years depending on your case. l Visa Screen is a credential assesment program offered by CGFNS to meet the minimum requirement for Immigration before issuing the green card. As Visa Screen Certificate is must to get green card, without visa screen green card case will be rejected. For visa screen more information, please check this link. http://www.cgfns.org/sections/prog/visa.shtml I hope it answer and helps you a bit suhkoshi. Good luck I Think So
