Guy's I recently talked with one of my friend there in KU who is currently enrolled in MS program. Well his reply is not that specific as most of the issues that has been uncovered in this thread. Nevertheless, it's depicts the current environment of the KU. I have rewrote the exact phrases from him. "There emerged a group of lecturers in KU who say its time to fight with the administrators for their right. for that they formed an organization named KU professors association. They have 8 point demands including reinstatement of a lecturer who has been expelled from the service, to increase their salary, to make staff permanent after a year etc etc. It all came after Loktantra has evolved in Nepal. KUPA le aafno maag pura gar bhanera admin lai dabab dina narabaji garna thalyo. Nikai nai charka nara haru pani lagaiyo. Democratic way ma birodh jasari garinchha , those were all tried. But admin was not ready to fulfill a single demand. Now KU non teaching staffs also got themselves along with KUPA and they formed an organization for themselves and they joined the party. Still after many talks KU administrator refused to fulfill their demand. Some of the students were so eager to form an organization for students also but it has not happened yet. Situation eti bigryo ki KUPA le yo sessiion ko suru dekhi nai napdhaune bhanera hadtal suru garyo. But after waiting for about 5 days students started to realize what this war between Admin and KUPA gonna cost them. Therefore students were agitated and they tried to force both pakchha to come to the table for talk and find the solution. KUPA executives and admin officers (VC registrar and others were closed in side KU senate hall till 11 PM from 10 am by the students. It went for 3 days. Ultimately talk between students representatives, KUPA and Admin resulted in a temporary solutions and teachers are now ready to give the lectures from tomorrow. This is all about recent crisis in KU. Now regarding Nepotism, you know only a few thing of KU central administration is transparent to all. There were some of the teachers in KU who left KU because of the unsatisfaction with KU. Some of them are expelled by KU iitself and Some have left by thier own. One of these teacher wrote abiout NEPOTISM in KU describing how THULA THALU in KU are abusing KU property. What for they are using their POWER (like Son of Dr. Sitaram has gone for Ph.D. in China and he is still receiving his salary from KU while none of the others who did their Ph.D from KU got that). Their are many reasons but to write all it requires a lot of time. Some of the AAROP are quite true and logical but some others are KAPOKALPIT andare just presented dirten KU ko CHHABI. You know what I mean. but you better go through the site of Kathmandu Post where that article was published. Sorry I dont knoe the Date."
