ImI , I would consider the act of 911 terrorism if it was sponsored by muslime. I believe that it was sponsered by US themselves. But i my belief could be wrong cos i dont have a way to prove that it wasnt muslim sponsored act although it some muslim could have been involved with the attack. But it was muslims who did the act of terrorism of 911 even though they had a good cause, a good cause for them to free their ppl, culture, and religion from American opression, it was till an act of terrorism. They could have been answering to the US terrorism they have experienced. Again u need to remember that terrorism is not only bombing somone. US believes in political and economic terrorism. And other terrorists are not able to defeat US with economic and political terrorism. So they choose the means of violence to answer the economic and political terrorism they get from US.
