I got the same problem with my Inspiron Laptop too. But i realised that i was keeping my computer on all the time wihout screen saver. So when i started using it just when i need it it works just fine. I think it has something to do with keeping it on for too long. At least that appeared to be the problem on my computer. Try shutting it off and letting it cool down every now and then and see if it works. But if u need ur laptop on all the time, just go buy another one....they are about 500.00 rt now i think.
