if i were you, i would open the LCD and try to fix the crystal and color IC chip manually with a soldering rod and a voltmeter. you can pull up a circuit diagram of the LCD from google and try to see the voltage levels. Americans are too lazy and the labor cost is surmounting each day. since you are out of warranty, they will probably offer you a new LCD at half a price of the laptop haha. its irritating, isn't it? well, welcome to america!! hehe Loote
