A group of armed robbers looted cash and valuables worth over Rs 2 million from Nayabazar area in the capital early Saturday morning, newspaper reports said on Sunday. An armed group of about eight persons broke into a two-storey house of Dorje Gurung, owner of Hotel Garden at around 1.45 in the morning and made away with Rs 40,000 cash, 22 tolas of gold and two coral-studded garlands worth about Rs 1.6 million, police said. Likewise, armed dacoits looted property worth Rs 800,000 from 22 houses at ward nos 4, 6 and 7 of Shreepur Village Development Committee of Sarlahi district Friday night. Three villagers were injured when the group of 25 armed dacoits beat them. One local Nanda Kishor Raya (25) was injured by gunshot while Bishwonath Raya and Prakash Raya were beaten by dacoits, reports quoted locals as saying.
