Rayamajhi Commission grills Thapa, Karki; summons others Kantipur Report KATHMANDU, July 14 - The High-Level Probe Commission headed by former Supreme Court justice Krishna Jung Rayamahi on Friday grilled Home Minister Kamal Thapa and Chief Secretary Lok Man Singh Karki of the erstwhile royal government on Friday in connection with their alleged involvement in suppressing the popular April pro democracy movement. The duo, who was summoned at 11 this morning to the Commission, refused to give any reaction to the press before the interrogation. "As a whole the (royal) cabinet is responsible for all the right and wrong decisions it took," Thapa said after coming out of the Commission office. We have already said of our moral responsibility over the killings and suppressions during the movement, Thapa added. Talking to the press, Thapa further criticized the government-Maoist ties. Some supporters, who had come with the former Home Minister however, reportedly misbehaved with the journalists. Thapa is being interrogated for his alleged use of excessive force to suppress the pro-democracy movement. He has also drawn flak for his supposed role in giving orders to shoot at the demonstrators. कमल थापा दलबलसहित बयान दिन आयोगमा (UPDATED) जनआन्दोलनमा भएको दमन र पद र शक्तिको दुरुपयोगको बारेमा छानबिन गरी कारबाही गर्न गठित उच्चायोगमा बयान दिन शाही गृहमन्त्री कमल थापा कार्यकर्ताहरुको दलबलसहित शुक्रबार बिहान पुगेका छन्। प्रतिक्रिया लिन चाहने सञ्चारकर्मीहरुलाई कमल थापाका कार्यकर्ताहरुले अवरोध पुर्‍याउन खोजेपछि संचारकर्मीहरुले प्रतिरोध गरेका थिए। थापाले आयोगको कार्यालय परिसरमा पुग्दा त्यहाँ जम्मा भएका उनका कार्यकर्ताहरुले कमल थापा जिन्दावाद र राष्ट्रवाद जिन्दावाद भन्ने नाराबाजी गरेका थिए। थापाले बयान सकिएर फर्किएपछि स‍ंचारकर्मीहरुसँग कुरा गर्ने बताएका छन्। कमल थापा आयोग पुग्नुभन्दा अगाडि देखिनै भवन पाठकको नेतृत्वमा कार्यकर्ताहरुको हुल आयोग पुगेको थियो। शाही सरकारको पालामा शिक्षा सहायक मन्त्री भएका पाठकले आयोगले आफूलाई पनि बोलाउने पक्का भएकोले आरुले कसरी बयान रहेछन् र संचारकर्मीहरुसँग प्रश्नको जवाफ दिदा रहेछन् भनेर आफू हेर्न आएको बताए। कमल थापा अध्यक्ष रहेको राप्रपाका अर्का केन्द्रिय सदस्य लोकबहादुर गुरुङ पनि आयोग पुगेर कमल थापा जिन्दाबाद भन्दै नारावाजी गरेका थिए। आयोगले शुक्रबार नै शाही सरकारका पालामा नियुक्त विवादास्पद मुख्य सचिव लोकमान सिंह कार्कीको पनि बयान लिँदैछ। ठूलो जिउडाल भएका कार्की प्रश्नलाई बेवस्ता गरी संचारकर्मीहरुलाई ठेल्दै आयोगको कार्यालयमा भित्र प्रवेश गरेका थिए। www.parewa.com, 14 July 2006
