Pakistani nationals arrested in Kathmandu Kantipur Report KATHMANDU, July 13 - Nepal Police arrested two Pakistani nationals, in connection with possessing explosives back in 2001, in Kathmandu early Wednesday morning. According to Dhak Bahadur Karki, Superintendent of Police of the Kathmandu District Police Office, Gulam Hussein Chima of Lahore and Atta Muhaddin Siddhiqui of Karachi were arrested from Everest Hotel in Naya Baneshwore. Karki said Nepal Police had seized 16 Kilograms of RDX from their room in Kathmandu on April 11, five years ago. “Police couldn’t arrest them back then as they fled the country when the explosives were seized from their room,” said SP Karki, adding, “We arrested them from room 403 of the Everest Hotel acting on a tip-off at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday.” Police have begun interrogating them. “We cannot immediately link them to the Mumbai terror attack as investigations are still going on,” said Karki, when asked if the duo were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the Mumbai attack two days ago. They arrived in Kathmandu from Pakistan on July 8, Karki informed. Two other Pak nationals were also arrested on the same night from a hotel in Jyatha but they were released later after preliminary investigation, police sources said.
