Many people know about the support KUMS had from Harvard University's Professor Cliff Tabin; whose love for Nepal led him to sponsor about fifty Americans to come and teach in KUMS. KU benefitted a lot from this contact with Harvard. Then what happens? KU got scared of the independence of KUMS run by Dr. Arjun Karki. Suresh Raj and Sitaram with the help of Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha and Dr. Nastu Sharma quickly put and end to the success of KUMS. Now Samir28 even compared KUMS with Janaki when with Dr. Arjun Karki, KUMS was about to be the top medical college in Nepal. They have replaced Dr. Karki with Dr. Chet Raj Pant a man who does not know any thing about medical education. Dr. Chet Raj Pant and several doctors from B & B Hospital became Professors overnight in one of the biggest scandals in the history of medical education in Nepal. No one argues that Dr. Pant is an experienced opthalmologist and Dr. Jagdish Lal Baidya is a very succesful surgeon but what makes them qualifed to be professors. What publications do they have to fulfill the criteria to become professors in even a minor medical college? What Suresh Raj has managed to do is commercialize education in the true sense: You pay good money to study and we will sell you certificates by our commercial teachers.
