okay, i am not supporting the great zidane here for his what one may call a "stupid" act. we all know how great a player he is. after maradona, if anyone had me in awe in terms of skill and prowess, it has to be zidane. i have nothing against the refrees decision. but just a food for thought. we all know that fifa is quite stringent when it comes to physical abuse, but what about verbal? i mean okay there are cameras all around to capture what's going around. the replay clearly showed that he had a small encounter(not a huge issue in soccer these days) with materazzi , then he was on his way. then all of a sudden he comes back and hit him. i m dead sure that there must have been a crude verbal exhange. now the question is who is keeping track of that? i mean okay one cannot be violent physically because it can be captured but what about the verbal abuse???? is it not against the spirit of the game? to me, if zidane deserved a red card then so did materazzi. but then they did not have evidences of the verbal brawl. shame on fifa!!
