okay i did not watch today's match. i normally don't watch 3rd place match anyways. reason is we know, teams don't tend to give their 100% for the match as it is not much of a matter of "do or die", instead they tend to play for fun and some pride. 2 yrs down the road, even a hard core fan tends to forget who won the third place. as for me, the world cup final sums up to: "you can only win gold and you don't lose silver" , let alone the third place match. as for tomorrow's grand finale is concerned, yes, i am looking forward to watching it. whoever is playing, it is the "WC final" so i will be watching it. i hope it won't disappoint me like most of the matches in this world cup have in terms of quality. BUT, i highly doubt that it is going to be a great game of soccer. 1) first few minutes of the game is going to be pretty boring as both teams will check their play a bit. 2) then it might be a little bit interesting for some minutes as both will try out hard to score. 3) once a team will score, then it is going to be 22 teams in one half of the ground. 11 will look to score to equalize and the rest 11 will look to defend and ONLY defend. this will be true regardless of whoever scores first. this is what i have found in both these eurpoean teams so far. 4) Reult--->1-0 to the winner. IF, by any chance the other team equalizes in counter attack, then it may bring some excitment, else it is going to be an embarassing final just like the semi between portugal and france. having said that, my best of luck to fans of both the teams. i will be almost neutral although i feel for Zidane--such a great player he is and boy, would not he be charged up to end his career in a high note? Italy on the other hand used to be my fav team when baggio was around. with his retirement, this team have turned out to be a mere DEFENCE MACHINE. if they win, then they should thank their 11 defenders (hehe).
