The Labour Ministry launched an official investigation into the cause of the 30-year-old's death following the accident last month. Dhan Bahadur was using a JCB loading vehicle used to transport sand and other building material of Al Wardi Transport Company in Budaiya when he died. His body and the vehicle had to be recovered from the sea following the incident. Officials were puzzled at how he ended up in the sea and were hoping the results of his death certificate would provide the answers. However, Labour Ministry occupational health and safety department head Nidhal Al Banna yesterday told the GDN the cause of the man's death was still unclear. "We have received the death certificate, but it just referred to the death as drowning in the sea," he said. "There is no clear indication or reason why he went in that direction (of the sea). "Maybe he became unconscious. "It could have happened for many reasons, maybe he had a heart attack or suffered heat stroke. "We cannot say the company that is responsible for the site is to blame. "We are still investigating and now we will take more witness statements." Mr Al Banna was unable to give a timescale for the investigation, but he confirmed as the man died at work he had full workers' rights and his family would eventually receive compensation. Work is still going on at the site as the company is not under suspicion.
