What makes me a हिन्दु? हिन्दु means शिन्धु in Persian. Persian use ह for स। for example, सोम in Sanskrit called होम in Persian; both means Moon God as well as Alcohol. सुर in Sanskrit is called हुर in Persian. अहुर (‍‌‌असुर) is the greatest deity in अभेस्थ (Persian बेद) where as it is the greatest devil in वेद. Contrary to अभेश्थ, वेद consider सुर (ईन्द्र) as the greatest Deity. I don’t want to go in detail of this; all I mean is Persian and Sanskrit has very old relationship which goes back to Vedic era. Persian had given name हिन्द to the land after हिन्दु (सिन्धु in Sanskrit) River to हिमालय. Those who lived in this land were called हिन्दु. I live in this land, which makes me a हिन्दु. It was Persian Empire which made this land (from Sindhu to Himalaya) known to the West.
