I have to say that when I was disappointed with Holland loosing the game and out of the World Cup, I accepted gracefully, eventhough I wholeheartedly disagreed with the refereeing and the fouling of the Portuguese. I just could not bear it, infact I was so disappointed that I thought I was never going to watch a single game in this World Cup. But fellas, this is only a game and that we should never take it so seriously. I still support Holland and I unbearably say that they will come out in the next European Championship firing. But the whining of the Argentine supporter is just too much to take. The game was dead locked with both sides playing well. I agree that Argentina controlled the ball well in the first half, but I thought there was never a grave threat in the germany's goal line. I thought yes they are playing well, but why the heck are they not shooting or not threatening when they are controlling the ball so well? I was infact surprised to see Germany not being able to attack, but the possesion that Argentina got and that they never looked threatening was shocking to say the least. They were playing with a plan to not let the Germans take control of the game. They succeded in doing that, but they fail to make a plan of attacking at the same time. It was negative plan to say the least and thats where they failed. The only chance was through a beautifully taken corner in which they headed home but from that onwards, I think Germany played way better. They controlled well, they never gave up and that is where I think Argentina should not have sat back and let Germans attack. They know how to control the ball as they did in the first half, why were they not able to do that after they scored the goal was surprising. But I believe the young German side, this coming from a neutral guy, played really well and they fought back and won. Please please please, why is it so hard to accept is I just cannot understand? Germany are hard to beat in penalty shoot out. They have lost very few when it comes to penalties, and so Argertina should have gone on an all out attack in the extra time. They did not. In fact both sides were tired, but Germany looked threatening when they went forward. They will take it pleasingly if it goes to penalties, because their record speaks volumes. But what has Argentina got to show when it comes to PSO. It failed miserably today for them. I think it is better not to make lame excuses and accept that Germany won it. The main score that counts is the score line and not this is what happened and this is what should have happened. Let us watch the game in true spirit of game man ship and accept that Argentina lost today. It wasn't bad refereeing, it wasn't because of Germany's physical play or diving. It was because of their negative play and a very good game that disappointingly ended in penalties. It was a coin toss. Both sides could have won in penalties. There is no justice here in penalities for both sides when they loose. My two cents. I am very sad that my Oranje Boys lost in a very saddened encounter with the goddam portuguese. We will get 'em next time.
