I am thankful to Hindu-Buddhist tradition for not locking my mind up. I can objectively observe the things and ideas. I can openly condemn the wrong Hindu/Buddhist practices and I can openly disagree with the scriptures. I consider myself one of the greatest rebels in Hinduism and Buddhism. I have been saying that Puranas are fake literatures. Krishna, Ram etc are not historical figures. Buddha is not an incarnation. I don’t believe in cast system. I stand against wrong practices like Dashian. Hindu leaders will not put prize over my head as Muslim has done for the writer (Salman Rushidi) and translators of “the Satanic Verses”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Satanic_Verses_%28novel%29 On February 14, 1989, the Ayatollah broadcast the following message on Iranian radio: "I inform the proud Muslim people of the world that the author of the Satanic Verses book, which is against Islam, the Prophet and the Qur'an, and all those involved in its publication who are aware of its content are sentenced to death" 1. As a result, Hitoshi Igarashi, the Japanese translator of the book was stabbed to death in July 1991, Ettore Capriolo, the Italian translator, was seriously injured in a stabbing the same month, and William Nygaard, the publisher in Norway, survived an attempted assassination in Oslo in October 1991. On February 14, 2006, the Iranian state news agency reported that the fatwa will remain in place permanently. I am a Hindu; however, I fought for secular country. And there are millions Hindus in Nepal who wanted secular country and now we are secular country. We should proud of this. Can you imagine this would have happened in Muslim country? Why the Hindu population is rapidly decreasing in Muslim countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan? Ask to Taslima Nasrin! She tried to answer this question in her nobel Lajja and had to flee her country. In 1994, organized groups identified with religious fundamentalists demanded her execution by hanging after she was quoted in The Statesman stating that "…the Koran should be revised thoroughly." http://www.umiacs.umd.edu/users/sawweb/sawnet/news/nasrin.html You can easily write Lajja in Nepal, any story against Hindu extremist. I hate all extremists but Hindu/Buddhist extremists are comparatively tolerant. However, they are also learning extremist secrets from Muslim extremists. Unlike declining Hindu population in Pakistan and Bangladesh, Muslim population is increasing in heavily Hindu/Buddhist populated Nepal. This could also a matter of pride for Hindu and Buddhists.
