hello well just like sum off i was in Ktm last year after 8 years. no i did not get that big culture shock though... because it was not the place that i was going for the first time in my life. yes there was a lot changes...narrow roads, small cars, noise and dusts but i got used with from the very next day... the old habits and senses just came back...i was fine, crossing the road in the middle, ride a crowded micro bus to lagankhel, eat momos in mahaboudh areas. . I was surprised to see little nieces and nephews all grown up, smart and taller.. it was little uncomfortable to use the toilet and bathroom at first. some of my friends who visited home before me told me all kind of crappy stories, eg. never ate out in restaurant because he thought of contaminated water in ktm, so had special order of mineral water even to clean their dishes at home. ... cant buy stuff at the store because the sales associate knows you as outsider and jacks up the price.... cant cross the road without help... all nonsense.. but one thing was sure that i would not try to drive there. significant changes...,there are .., cell phones .. internet.. disco clubs, bars, ... there is expensive lifstyle but young nepali people seem to afford it. they say their salary is 5/10 thousand ruppes but looking at their spending habits i believe they make a lot money. i loved the food at home, the regular dal vat tarkari and masu..
