Hey green card congratulations! You have both options ( adjustment of status (AOS) through USCIS or consular processing (CP) back from Nepal) open since you are already in US. Both options have pros and cons. If you are currently living in a city where local USCIS office is located and your case number is lower than 4000, AOS should work fine. Usuall AOS takes longer than CP because you have to go through the finger printing and your criminal record check through the FBI. They can be quite time consuming and frustating. If your case number is high, most likely that you may not get interview even if your number is current because of time consuming process of record check. Benifit of AOS is that you don't have to go Nepal that means less expensive. The benifit of the CP is less hassle because once you return the filled forms you simply wait for the second letter when your case number becomes current. KCC takes care of the criminal record checks etc. for you. You will get a chance to visit Nepal and your family which is price less. Study the situation and make wise decision. Good luck One BhuktaBhogi.
