28th May, 2006 (Sunday) Maoists rob joint venture banks Kathmandu, 28 May: Maoists robbed Rs 1.5 million from the SBA and Everest Bank Ltd in Janakpur and one million rupees from the Janakpur Cigarette Factory, the Nepal Army Public Relations Directorate said. Maoists extorted money from businessmen in Janakpur where they looted one pick-up van and decamped with a motorcycle. Insurgents extorted money from VDCs in Pyuthan.
