Indisguise and other friends, It has to be understood that maoists don't kill people without any rhyme or reason. if you delve into the statisitics of those 13284 people who got killed, about 60% of them are maoists and innocent people and 40% are army. of course there are exceptions in that 60% who got killed. there are quite a lot innocent people in that. and they have been killed BOTH by maoists and the nepal army consciously/unconsciously. Of course IGP murder was heinous crime. There are hundreds of other innocents, who have been brutally murdered from BOTH sides. few become BiG news like IGP's. When you fight for 10 years, exceptions are bound to happen and there have been quite a lot of them, i agree. I am not speaking here for maoist violence. Violence is violence in any form and manifestation and it has to be condemned without a doubt and i won't welcome if tomorrow, maoists come into the picture of nepali politics as hardcore commies as in North Korea. No one wants to see "khmer rouge" of cambodia to be repeated in Nepal. HELL NO.....250 yrs of autocratic shah regime led us to dark...we don't need another singleton regime to dominate our nation yet again... NO. Maoists know it better. The only option they have, to come into the nepali politics picture, is by supporting and practicing the norms of multiparty democracy and i think as of now, they are committed for it. I have been here in US for 8 years. In between, i have been to nepal for 5 times. I have visited places like rolpa and rukum...my near ones were in nepal army so that helped. The reason why I see maoists violence as an inevitable outburst of poor nepali people is because I myself have seen the poverty, suppression and killings of innocent nepali by my own eyes. the poors not even can read...they have been constantly used by the so-called "thula-bada" of the villages. It is so unfair and disgusting..but that's the truth and that's how Nepal is. 250 yrs of shah regime didn't do a shi--t to tackle the deep-rooted social problem of nepal. they live in the so-called "palace" and travel in "jaguars" and "harley davidson"..How fair is that??????? Down with king..and monarchy political parties were busy in the fight for the frea-king "kursi" all these years...we all know that so down with them too. Nepali people---privileged, mid and upper class are either in ktm or outside nepal, so all they do is barking....no knowledge of the GROUND REALITY of nepal WHO IS LEFT? Poor nepali and few visonary leaders with the likes of baburam and prachanda.... what's the option? HOLD THE GUNS AND LETS FIGHT WITH THE UNJUST SYSTEM.... THIS IS WHAT MAOISM IS ALL ABOUT IN NEPAL.
