It is very inaccurate and lack of braod insight to disregard the role of Maoists in toppling the former "Royal regime". The Maoists effectively distracted the focus and resources of the Army and other security agencies which would have been used solely to supress the SPA Andolan if the Maoists were not to cooperate with SPA. It is similar to saying that rise of Hitler and the Nazi Germany had no effect in ending 'the era of economic depression' of 1930s in the US history. No historian would argue with the fact that the rise of Hitler and the involvement of the US in the WW2 effectively ended the 'Depression' in the US history.
