Dear friends of Sajha, For quite sometime, our " Kurakani" has been confined to dirty, communal and provocative discussions (ofcourse there are many intellegent discussions also). I can see many of us have become very much hateful toward a perticular cast, group and religion of the the country which definitely isn't a good sign for Sajha, our society and the country as a whole. First of all, as many of our friends of sajha have written in the past, such kind of narrow minded discussions and the use of uncivilized words will lead our site toward a "third rate" sites and I think it will loose it's credibility among intelectual and civilized circle. In the first place, I want to remind you all, the code of conduct of sajha.com, ""Please practice civility, consideration and respect for individual ideas at all times. Also please note that sajha is not a site to participate in tasteless propaganda. You are free to cordially discuss on any topics possible as long as you keep the above in mind." Now a days we can easily see that our discussion is heading toward tasteless propagandas. I believe, most of the sajha users are the top few percent ( may be 5-10% the most) of our county's educated and intelectual population ( total adult litracy rate being just 49% as according to UNICEF 2000-2004), we need to show others that our intelectual circle is free from personal and communal as well as provocative propagandas. I guess we have much better issues to be discussed about. For example, even in the domain of religion, we can rather discuss about some bad and inhumane practices present in some of the world religions, more fanatic believes which is cousing unrest and destroying the harmony in human society or may be about politics, our opinion toward the present problems being faced by the country and the possible solutions (even if it might not be practiced by the accountables immediately) as well as some inspirational events that we all have seen in our experiences ( if we have one). So finally, once again lets set good example of civilization by practicing civility in out language and if possible, in our behavior as well. Lets not blame somebody for something before looking at ourselves and so on. If followed, am sure one day we will be the source of inspiration for the generations to come and at the same time, sajha will remain as the respected site as it is now.
