Can't say much about who is right and who is wrong in this thread, but one thing I know for sure is that History is written by the Winners. So, even if it is wrong or exaggerated, the people in power can and do make a concerted effort to mold the records and accounts to suit their views and legacy. So, yes, I would certainly think twice before believing what was hammered into our brain through Mahendra Mala and other similar textbooks. I think we know better now.
